Weather in Canaima National Park

From January to March, the park's north-west region experiences a dry season. During this time, the waterfalls may be reduced to a mere trickle. Also, the Auyantepui Mountain tends to remain obscured by fog and cloud in these months. Apart from this period, the Canaima climate for rest of the year is ideal for tourists, when there's plenty of rain and the falls are at their spectacular best.

Venezuela

The Venezuela's climate experiences little variation on average through the year, being located near the equator. Altitude though, plays a role in temperature change, bringing about a drop of approximately 6.5 °C for every increase of 1000 m (5.4 °F per 1000 ft). With most of the country lying below 1000 m, the temperature ranges between 21 °C and 29 °C in most places. Up in the Andes and coastal mountains, temperatures are more moderate.

Canaima National Park

The great savannah plateau enjoys a temperate climate with frequent rainfall. The annual temperature averages 24.5 °C.

The larger part of climate in Canaima National Park is an equatorial one - the weather in Canaima comprising of bright sunshine and heavy rain all year through. Rainfall here generally averages 1500 mm to 2000 mm annually; areas higher up can receive up to 4000 mm in a year. For the entire region, the mean annual rainfall is 2600 mm.

Depending on altitude, season and geography, the temperature in Canaima ranges between 10 °C and 20 °C. Night temperatures as low as 0 °C have been recorded on top of some tepuis (table-top mountains).
