About Us
Hola y bienvenidos! Hello and welcome from Viajes Valencia Los Roques...your local connection in Canaima National Park, Venezuela! We are a group of enthusiastic travelers focused on spreading word about the pristine beauty of our Venezuelan destinations to the rest of the world. The Canaima National Park is an easy sell since this remote treasure contains a plethora of endangered species, the tallest waterfall in the world (Angel Falls) and table-top mountains (tepuis) dating back to the super continent. The impressive features of this UNESCO World Heritage site are abundant, though it can still be quite a feat for tourists to reach the attractions. Our travel organization is here on the ground in Venezuela to provide you all the necessary details to make your unforgettable trip into the national park smooth and simple.
Upon our first visit to this area, we immediately fell in love with the stunning flora, fauna and landscapes and knew this was the place we wanted to market; however, the most beautiful aspect of this paradise is the hospitality of the people. This park is home to the native people of the Pemon Indians, and we make every attempt to ensure that our tourism is improving and not deteriorating their home. We see sustainable tourism as a way to develop the economy in Venezuela and also as the best way to preserve the unique features it holds.
Who we are and what we do:
Jacobo Reyes Galban and his wife, Gladys Irigoyen, co-direct Valencia Los Roques. He is originally from the western part of Venezuela in Maracaibo and his diverse career has ranged from military service, to public administration, to financial services, to client services in various industries. His work in the tourist industry began in private aviation in 2005. Jacoco places his focus in the company on e-commerce and airline services.
Melissa Gonzalez Llovera is spending the majority of her time on building the whl.travel partnership, managing the destination website, and is also a travel agent in the company. She received her bachelor's degree in Modern Languages and loves to read, dance, travel and learn about other cultures. She wholeheartedly believes in the potential for sustainable tourism in Venezuela's scenery, diversity and the hospitality of the people. Melissa is looking forward to growing personally and professionally as your local connection to Canaima.

We usually utilize commercial flights for air transfers, but we also offer private flights from Valencia, Charallave or other national airports. Our customers are also welcome to the nationwide transfer-by-ground services in deluxe vans.
Our company sees the internet as an invaluable resource for the growth of our enterprise; our customers are welcome to use our online quotation and booking system to plan their trip. We promptly receive and manage requests (within 24 hours) and send the customer the tickets online for a smooth transaction. We give our clients high quality service at a competitive market price with a rapid reply.
Our organization sees responsible/sustainable tourism as the only option in Canaima National Park. We make every attempt to ensure that the packages we offer are positively interacting with the local population and environment to ensure that these fragile ecosystems are maintained. The Pemon Indians have a very unique and interesting culture, and they cherish the land on which they have called home for hundreds of years. One third of the plant life found in this national park the size of Belgium cannot be found anywhere else in the world. This region has been referred to as "the Lost World" because of the prehistoric and rare animals that reside among the trees. Venezuela no doubt has quite the treasure in its southeast territory and we hope in the future it remains as so.
This area has such potential for tourism and is relatively untouched and remote, currently. We hope our involvement in the national park will help to usher in a responsible brand of tourism to preserve the natural gems found here as the numbers of tourists begin to climb. There are also perceived economic resources to be cultivated in this region, which could be more than detrimental to the habitats for the plants and animals living here. We hope our presence in this area will act as a voice for safeguarding this unique ecosystem.
We believe that becoming a part of WHL is going to help tourism in Venezuela to progress in an appropriate direction. We are extremely proud of the invitation to sign on board with WHL.travel and had no doubts about doing so after we saw the great reservation services offered. We are confident that we are taking our business in a positive direction in the capable hands of WHL and are looking forward to the future.
