One night at Angel Fall
If you are looking for a tour that is out of the ordinary and off the beaten path, Angel Fall is the natural wonder and adventure destination for you. Angel Fall plunges to its depths from the most outstanding tepuy in the entire Canaima Park called Auyantepuy. This tepuy is also known as Devil´s Mountain, with a total surface of 700km2. Nowadays, this is one of Venezuela's top tourist attractions. This waterfall was discovered by the pilot Jimmy Angel on October 9th, 1937 and when he died, his ashes were thrown over Auyantepuy as his last wish.
This tour will show you the greatness and pure beauty of Venezuela's nature. You will enjoy an unforgettable experience sleeping one night like a true Pemon. The sounds of nature like little insects, the river and the wind will accompany you while you have dinner and share a unique chat with your tour mates. Also, do not forget to watch the sky. The color and size of the moon are unbelievable! Moreover, all the stars you count as you fall asleep will be a never-ending task.
- The guide will knock on your door between 4:45 and 5:00 to rise for a morning snack
- Departure is at 5:30 am in canoe upriver to Mayupa
- You will hike for 30 minutes and then return to the boat to continue sailing up the river
- You will stop for breakfast, then continue through the rapids of Aonda and enter the Rio Churun. Throughout the tour, you will see the majestic Auyantepui from different angles (prepare your camera)
- The tour will arrive at the shelter at about 11:00 am. Guests will then hike up one hour through a nature trail between roots and rocks
- Then, you will reach the Laime Mirador, which is a huge stone that comes from the jungle to give us a spectacular view of the mysterious Auyantepui and Angel Falls in its entirety
- Next, you will rest a little bit and then continue walking until a natural pool where if the water level permits, you can take a dip in its cold waters
- Then, you will take a deserved rest after a sharp hike and return to the shelter. You will have a delicious chicken for lunch, rest and at 2:30 pm, visitors can take another bath in the Churun water
- After a quick bath in the river, your Pemon guides will cook a tasty dinner and set the table to enjoy a great meal and a unique discussion about your experiences during the tour
- Finally, you will receive your hammock, a mosquito net and a blanket to spend the night at the shelter with the Pemon guides and tour mates
- After a unique stay in the jungle, early in the morning guests will return to the original camp
