Kavas has almost remained hidden for human beings, but by simply taking flight from Canaima on a light aircraft (Cessna 206) and you will visit a Pemón community that will show you the greatness of this national park. The Pemon community is very nice, most of them know several languages and they are willing to answer all your questions. Please do not forget your camera; this might will be your only opportunity to take you a picture with a person of the Pemon society in traditional dress! Be prepared to take a bath in the refreshing water that retains the color of tea from the minerals! How exciting is this?
Itinerary
on this page
- First, you will take a 15 min flight from Canaima on a light aircraft (Cessna 206)
- You will fly over the Carrao River, where you will see the Auyantepui and the king of kings: Angle Falls. (45 min)
- The tour will then land on Kavac
- After, you will take a long walk (20 min) through the savannah and forest to a cave with a small creek
- Then, you will walk by the small river and reach the cave entrance. This is the deepest part of the river and guests are assisted in passing with a rope that reaches to the bottom of the cave, where you will find an impressive waterfall
- Next, you will return to the Pemon cabin to have lunch and take a short break
- Finally, you will begin your journey back to Canaima
